Rainbow charizard for sale4/11/2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() Once collectors realized just how rare these cards were, secondary market prices began rising. But what makes it so valuable today is that 1st edition print run was extremely limited compared to subsequent unlimited edition prints. Card #4 in the set was none other than the iconic dragon Pokémon – Charizard.ĭue to Charizard‘s immense popularity from the video games and anime, this card became highly sought after by collectors. The Base Set contained 102 cards, among them were 49 rare holographic cards that shined with colorful rainbow patterns. The original 1st edition shiny Charizard was released in 1999 as part of the Base Set for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. To understand why shiny Charizards are worth so much, we first need to understand their origins. Let‘s dive in! A Brief History: The Rise of the Shiny Charizard I‘ll draw upon data from grading companies and auction houses plus share my own expertise as a longtime Pokémon card collector and investor. In this complete pricing and value guide, we‘ll give you an in-depth look at the history, value growth, investment outlook, and recent record sales for shiny Charizard cards. But what exactly makes the 1st edition shiny Charizard so rare and sought after? And are there any other valuable Charizard cards you should know about? With recent sales over $400k, this coveted card has solidified its place as one of the most valuable trading cards in existence. Much deserving of a PSA 10 which not all are.Ĭonsidering all that, I’d recommend hyper sell his off and make a little more then turn around and see what’s available then.A PSA 10 Gem Mint Grade 1999 1st Edition Shadowless Shiny Charizard is worth between $400,000 to $500,000 in today‘s market. So what about the value of a strong and thick 1st Edition 10? Of course several have sold at 20k though mine would be worth more cause none are popping up anymore and this ones a beauty. Of course, it would take me a long time to piece it out especially since I already have multiples of nearly all. With large lots I would have to assume about 25% profit. I went through it and decided if someone came to me to buy that collection what would I pay. cash or additional cards would be necessary to obtain both said cards. My final verdict is that this lot is only worth one of the cards: shadowless PSA 10 OR 1st ed PSA 10. Guessing with 1 std deviation thrown in, I’d say this lot could be valued at 21,500-$26,500 (+unknowns), so I’m 68% confident in this assessment~ some people might put in a overall lot deduction rate (~10%) due to the mixture and # of cards, so that might take the final tally down to $19,500-$24,000(+unknowns).
